We concepted, designed and proposed a lecture series to coincide with the introduction of a new recycling program on the Indiana University Indianapolis campus. The “Re:” lectures, in which “recycling” was the unifying theme, were to be given by representatives from various academic disciplines throughout the university. Each lecture would address how recycling held significance to their particular filed of study. With the intent of opening a dialogue between academic disciplines and the community at large, topics such as appropriation and sampling would be discussed, expanding the environmental issue and linking it to current social, political and cultural trends.
